14.01.2021 | The test vehicle partners meet for the 3rd joint test drive.
Four test vehicles drive in convoy and exchange V2X messages for connected driving. The goal is to use communication between vehicles to send and receive risks such as blockages and congestion to surrounding vehicles. This communication can be used in the futur to give way e.g. for ambulances and fire engines.
A major focus is on localization in “feature-poor” environments, in which the test vehicle can orient itself with track precision using only a few clues, e.g. within a highway tunnel.
The results are evaluated and contribute to the improvement for further test drives.
